Summertime Means Farmers Market Time

One of my favorite things about living in a big city and summertime is all the farmers and open air markets. Being able to wander through all the markets, finding treasures, and interacting with the local farmers is such a fun way to spend summer days. In my opinion, one of the best in the city is SOWA. It pretty much offers it air market, thrift stores, farmers market, and food trucks. This year there apparently was some kind of dispute between the owner of SOWA and the person who owns the land it’s held on, which created a split. So, now there is SOWA and the South End Open Market, which are literally two blocks from each other. I don’t quite understand it all, but there is still all the goodies from previous years. May 1st was the opening day, and Alyssa and I had to be there. Unfortunately, it was raining, so it was a bit icky and there wasn’t everything open, but we still managed to have a great time and found some treasures. For myself, I got a pair of earrings and a necklace. There also was a vendor who took dinosaur toys, hollowed them out, and filled them with plants. While I didn’t get one from her (four plants if enough, I think), I did get a picture, because I loved the idea and knew Cade would too.

At a later date..of course, Alyssa and I have already made it back..she found a plant for herself. She’s been eyeing plants for awhile now to bring some life into her apartment and fell in love with the guy below instantly. So happy she was able to find the perfect addition for her space.
